Earlier this year Google released a video giving an insight into their search algorithm change process. And this video is an interesting follow up on the same. Google is of the view that they want to really speed up the search so that they can deliver answers faster than ever. In fact, the search giant attempts to create a seamless connection between the questions users ask and the information they seek. It its blog post Google threw light on the evolution of search, as does the video. Google is quoted- The video highlights some important trends:



  • Universal Results:With Universal Search- which returns results like images, videos, and news, in addition to web pages- were helping you find all different kinds of information in the same place. Weve continued to make search more comprehensive, enabling you to find products, places, patents, books, maps and more.



  • Quick Answers: Today on Google youll find more than just a list of links to websites. Youll find Quick Answers at the top of the page for a wide variety of topics, including flight times, sports scores, weather and dozens more. As our technology gets better, were beginning to answer harder questions for you, right on the search results page.


  • The Future of Search: Weve also been focused on developing faster ways to search and save time, whether were shaving seconds off searches with Google Instant or helping you search from your phone with Voice Search. Searching should be as easy as thinking, and the future looks bright!




Google has also created a timeline of search features. This timeline categorizes the various types of Universal Results and Quick Answers that have been added by Google in the past decade.
