Google+ To Power Realtime Search Soon

There's good news for all the Google Realtime Search fans, the service is soon coming back. This time around, though it will incorporate data from Google+ in addition to that other social networks, as reported by Mashable.

At a search panel in Mountain View, California, Google's Amit Singhal announced, when asked about reviving the service, that Google is "actively working" on breathing back life into the service. However this time, in stead of using Twitter data for generating realtime feeds, it is signaled that Google is experimenting with opting for data from Google+ mainly, amongst other sources.

As most of us know, Realtime Search offered a reliable method for delivering realtime data from various social networks like, Twitter, Facebook etc. So, whenever a major world event news made a headline, like the Royal Wedding or Osama Bin Laden's death, Google Search would display posts taken from Twitter and facebook to note people's reaction to these crucial world events. So, why was it taken down? Mr. Singhal clarifies the reason behind the Realtime Search discontinuation "The value the product was providing was not enough,".

Whilst it sounds reasonable reason to take the service down, it can be questioned, as to why is it that soon after the success of Google+ , it is deciding to bring back the Realtime Search service? Like most Google services, this too will feature on its front page, does it not sound like Google is favoring it's own content over others?

Also, along with this attempt, Google is currently working on developing an internal search for it's social network, Google+. This feature will allow the users to browse through the stream of rather engaging public posts as further indicated by Amit, when probed about its absence from the social network currently, to which he responded "We are on it".
