The Google Guys' Mile High Club Tiff

Why not end the week on a high note? The Wall Street Journal's Kevin Delaney, in a few sentences in the middle of an article about the Google Party Plane lawsuit, dropped the funniest CEO quote in recorded history. At the same time, he reminds us of how hard it is to be a billionaire.

Google Plane Becomes Center Of Attention

Google founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page could agree that the Boeing 767 wide-bodied plane they bought last year needed ceiling-mounted hammocks and to be roomy enough to comfortably haul 50 or so people on a last minute trip to Africa. But Sergey's prima Donna (and perhaps lurid) extravagance was over the line.

CEO Eric Schmidt threatened to turn the car around and go straight home if they didn't cool it:
At one point -Leslie Jennings- witnessed a dispute between them over whether Mr. Brin should have a "California king" size bed, he says. Mr. Jennings says Mr. Schmidt stepped in to resolve that by saying, "Sergey, you can have whatever bed you want in your room; Larry, you can have whatever kind of bed you want in your bedroom. Let's move on."
Pffftttt!

Though Mr. Delaney's article is about a dispute between the Google Guys and the contractor hired to refurbish the jet, that little side note will become the quote of the year.

Other things Brin and Page have argued about:
Where to put the "Hot Chicks Room"

The current condition of Schrdinger's Cat

Whether or not it's "sissified" to use a Lego separator

Why, exactly, Matt Cutts gets all the honeys

Who rocks more: Hong Kong Phooey or Quick Draw McGraw?

Which one gets to jump into the $240 worth of pudding first

Who gets to say, "Let's google, baby"

Whether the plane should be called "The Google PageSwank"
