The Jellyfish Buying Engine
Introducing The First Buying Engine

Jellyfish.com is claiming to be a new kind of search engine, which it dubs the Internets first buying engine. The site, in beta form, already offers 1000s of stores for users to look through. But its biggest draw is the lure of cash back.

This is the Jellyfish.com cash back promise: WE SHARE at least half of every $1 we earn when you shop and buy products using Jellyfish.com. The highest cash back percentage I noticed was 22.5 percent (from All-Ink.com). Most of the others seem to gravitate towards 4-5 percent, and some are lower " but every little bit helps.

The merchants include some major companies, such as Barnes and Noble and Best Buy. Jellyfish users can search for products by store or by category, in addition to general-purpose, at-large queries. The merchant rating system can actually lead to vendors being removed from the site (if there are 20 unresolved complaints out of their last 100 transactions).

Jellyfishs About Us section gives out a lot of information, explaining the sites concepts, reasoning, and guarantees. The site layout is intuitive enough for users to jump in and begin shopping, too. It does require users to set up an account, but there is no cost associated with this, and it is a relatively quick and painless process.

Jellyfish looks very promising. Its not so incredible as to make comparison-shopping a thing of the past, but this site (the odd name of which is not explained, as far as I could tell) and its cash back promise are definitely worth checking out.
