Since were on a Spanish kick this week, I thought Id give this a mention: We have yet another SEO contest upon us.
HazRuido.com (make noise) launched a contest on Monday for the term habitaquo. Rather than an ongoing contest like many English language SEO contests, this Spanish language contest is set up to be a one-time thing.
The judgment day is set for May 23. The #1 Google result for habitaquo will win an Apple MacBook 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor with 512 MB RAM. #2 gets a 30 GB iPod.
In addition to the best search engine positioning, HazRuido also has a category for best viral marketing, to be determined by judges (50%) and Technorati links and site visits (measured on May 20) (50%). The grand prize for best viral campaign is a week-long trip for two to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, to be used in June 2007. Second place gets a weekend trip to the Canary Islands.
Ive already begun seeing the term around, like in the comments of this Search Engine Journal post. Get ready for an influx.
I gotta say, the prizes are probably the best Ive seen for an SEO keyword contest. Yes, the site (or at least the page in the SERP), must be in Spanish to be elligible to win, but entries have already closed to the contest. (You have to register with the site to be considered elligible.)
Disappointed? You can still enter the Second Marketing Pilgrim SEM Scholarship Marketing Contest with $10,000+ in prizes! But hurry”the deadline is Friday. (PS: we prefer English)
