"Phantom's" First, But What About In Search?

After Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Phantom of the Opera" became the longest running show on Broadway, I wanted to see where it ranked in search.

Phantom's show has gone on 7,486 times, passing Webber's "Cats" to become the longest running show on Broadway. An interesting story, but how to fit it onto a website that focuses more on search than entertainment, to put it mildly, posed a problem.

Fortunately AOL's Susan Timcheck came to the rescue, solving the "how can I make this searchy" question with the top ten musicals being queried on AOL Search.

The hugely popular shows "Rent" and "Wicked" placed one and two for AOL searchers over the past five days. "Wicked" is a very tough ticket to score on Broadway, as one WebProNews writer attested when some associates tried to get them on a recent trip to the Big Apple.

"The Producers" continued to enjoy its resurgence, and was third in AOL's list. "Phantom" placed fourth in the list. Here's the whole AOL's list:

1. Rent
2. Wicked
3. The Producers
4. The Phantom of the Opera
5. Mamma Mia
6. Sweeney Todd
7. Aida
8. Hello Dolly
9. Into the Woods
10. Fiddler on the Roof
