Loren Baker's Search Engine Journal sponsored the 2005 Search Engine Blog Awards and recently announced the winners of the inaugural competition.
Technorati, JenSense, and Google were the first winners announced on Search Engine Journal today. Winners in other categories will be announced soon.
Technorati Weblog got the nod in the News & Blog Search Engine Run Blogs category, topping runners-up blogs by Feedster and Topix. (For more about Feedster's former CTO, Scott Johnson, click here.)
Jen Star's JenSense won out for Search Engine Marketing and Contextual Advertising Blogs, and beat MarketingVox and Google's AdSense and AdWords blogs in doing so. "Thank you to everyone who voted for me! It is nice to see my hard work is appreciated," she blogged in response.
For Search Engine Owned Blogs, Google's official blog edged out its Yahoo counterpart by thismuch. Blogs from Ask Jeeves and MSN followed those two in the voting.
Baker wrote that results for "the top Search Engine News Blogs, Search Engine Optimization Blogs, the Matt Cutts & Jeremy Zawodny voting results, and the Community Search Blog Showdown" will be forthcoming.
