Be The Google Cinematographer

A temp position listed on Craigslist seeks a Video Production Specialist to work at the search advertising company's Mountain View-based Googleplex.

Maybe Larry Page and Sergey Brin want to film "Kill Bill Vol. 3," but featuring a Microsoftian villain instead of David Carradine. The temporary position advertised online does have the potential to become a full-time position, but the duties appear to be more oriented toward internal training than creating a Hollywood blockbuster.

Being in California, Google should have no shortage of local applicants for the position. Whoever gets the job, and WebProNews hopes the lucky candidate blogs about the experience, will have the kind of workload Robert Rodriguez had while filming "El Mariachi."

Hopefully Google's videographer won't have to spend a month in a medical research facility like Rodriguez did to finance the film. Although considering the reports on how tough Google can be on job candidates, 30 days of testing medications may be a breeze in comparison.

Google wants a bachelor's degree and at least a year of video production experience. The job requirements list Final Cut Pro and experience with education/training fields as pluses for candidates.

The candidate will have to be as savvy with digitizing content as they are with a light meter. Google expects recordings to be encoded and uploaded to their network, and to keep a "database of tech talks up to date."
