Arizona officials will announce on Wednesday the arrival of the next new thing from Google: a facility housing some of their operations to be located in the Phoenix area.
No one will talk about this story on the record, as the Business Journal of Phoenix noted in its report that no one from Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano's office or other government offices would comment.
As to Google commenting on the record, well, that isn't happening either. But unnamed sources have been chirping away about the big news coming October 12th. They claim Google will be the latest high-tech company to set up operations in Arizona.
During the summer, Intel disclosed it would establish a new chipmaking plant near Chandler, Arizona. That move has been attributed to Governor Napolitano's signing into law certain tax cuts favorable to businesses and technology companies.
The report cites sources as claiming high level executives from Google recently met in the Phoenix area to hammer out details. The exact location and number of jobs to be created won't be known until the press conference on Wednesday.
