AdSense Blog Goes Beyond First Post

Rob from Google Product Marketing has placed post number 2 on the AdSense blog, where they discuss variations in the number of ads.

The people on Google's AdSense team created a new blog this week. "A Look inside Google AdSense" will be the place where the AdSense folks share news about the contextual advertising program.

After the customary first post, where they say hi, announce the blog, and promise to keep it updated semi-regularly, the AdSense team has made its second post available. In the post, they discuss ad performance and the number of ads that AdSense might place on a site.

Those ads will vary in number, depending on a particular ad's performance, usefulness, and relevance. Site publishers will probably have immediate concerns about fewer ads showing up on their pages, but Google says these ads have a "higher CTR."

AdSense will make these choices automatically. A banner may show four text ads or one well-performing ad expanded to fill the whole ad space. If this means a greater return for publishers, there should be some happier faces looking at AdSense accounts in the future.
