The Mountain View-based search engine company has tweaked the personalized home page option it offers.
By selecting the Add Content button on the top left of a personal Google home page, a new window slides open on the left side of the page. Google has made several more content options available.
Categories called My Stuff, News, Business, Technology, Sports, Lifestyle, Fun, and Create a Section appear in the navigation window. My Stuff lets users place bookmarks or stock price information on the personalized page. Click "Create a Section" and a search box appears.
Users can enter a topic, a publication name, or a RSS feed into the box and hit the Go button. Results returned from that search can be placed on the personalized homepage by hitting the Add button next to a result.
Through the wonders of remote scripting, known these days as Ajax, users can drag and drop the various content blocks on the personalized homepage in whatever arrangement they like.
