Google Testing Imbedded Alternate Searches

Have you ever conducted a search and found the results don't exactly match what you were looking for? During these times, have you ever wanted your search engine to suggest other queries worth trying? Apparently, Google believes there's a demand for such a service and is currently experimenting with it.

Google Testing Imbedded Alternate Searches
According to Barry at SearchEngineRoundtable, a poster at the SEW forums discovered Google was listing alternate searches related to the initial query, which was for an Outlook object Model. The poster discovered these alternate search suggestions embedded in the results on the second page of the SERPS generated from his query... not the most logical place to put these types of suggestions, but I digress.

Barry's post also reveals GoogleGuy has confirmed that Google is indeed conducting these tests and they are not related to spyware.

Stay tuned to find out whether or not these suggestions stick around.
