Google has introduced another method users can refine their queries with by introducing a new advanced search feature focusing on numbers and their range.

The new feature, which searches throw a range of numbers (1 through 45, for instance), is called numrange search and it allows users to search for results contained within a number range.

This is done so by entering a number and then separating the number by two periods like so: running shoes $50..$150. This tells Google to search for running shoes between $50 and $150 and the results should reflect the query accordingly.

On Google's Advanced Search page, they provide more examples of their numrange function:

Willie Mays 1950..1960
DVD player $250..350

On the Google Blog, Tom Stocky indicates he discovered this ability while searching for the hottest recorded temperature on Earth, which he believed was done at Death Valley. Stocky found it by searching for death valley 130..140 degrees.
