Want Random Search Results? Shmoogle It

As most of us know, when someone uses Google to search, the results they receive are listed in accordance to Google's algorithm. Although, because most search users don't go past the third page of results, it's rare that users are exposed to the deeper results. Until now.

Operating under the premise of "All Results Are Equal," developer Tsila Hassine has introduced Shmoogle, something Hassine calls a Google randomizer. As the name and the description indicate, Shmoogle is search engine that "scrapes" its results from Google with one notable difference:

Want Random Search Results? Shmoogle It
It presents the search results in random order.

As Hassine reveals, "Shmoogle instantly neutralizes Page rank and the whole SEO industry induced by it." The issue of visibility is also brought to the table on Hassine's blog entry. The thinking is all sites on the web are equally retrievable but they are not equally visible. From Hassine's point of view, Shmoogle breaks this hierarchy and allows ALL sites an opportunity to garner the first position, or as Hassine puts it:

"Shmoogle sacrifices Google's accuracy for a web democracy, and gives common web authors an equal chance of exposure."

Thanks to Google Blogoscoped for pointing Shmoogle out.
