Barry Diller, CEO of IAC; the company who purchased Ask.com, indicated the property may be preparing for a name change yesterday at the D conference.
When the audience asked Diller what names he's considering for his recently purchased search property, he indicated that Ask Jeeves may be losing part of its name (either Ask or Jeeves) and keeping the other part. Based on Diller's comments, many are speculating the engine's new name will likely be Ask or Ask.com.
With upcoming name change, one wonders if Diller will also send the Ask Jeeves butler on permanent vacation.
