In order to promote the upcoming launch of their Y!Q contextual search service, Yahoo is holding a contest to find who can use Y!Q in the most innovative method.
In order to participate, webmasters and site owners must embed Y!Q into their webpage. Instructions for doing so are provided by Yahoo. Once this is complete, site visitors can experiment with the embedded search function, which promises contextually relevant search results based on the words used to query the service.
In order to determine a winner, Yahoo's judges will be grading site owners on the following criteria:
* Relevance: How effectively have you set context so that Y!Q produces results with maximum relevance?
* Prominence: How prominent is the placement of Y!Q on your site?
* Placement: How creative and intuitive are the placements of Y!Q icons on your site?
* Usefulness: To what degree does Y!Q enhance the overall user experience on your site?
The contest winner receives $5000. Contestants can also submit up to three sites to be judged in the competition. For more information, visit Yahoo's Y!Q competition page.
