Google Autolink Prevented By JavaScript

Chris Ridings pings me to let me know about an effort underway to get Google to provide an opt-out to the controversial AutoLink tool.

So we're asking you to help Google and Co do the right thing by placing a tiny little meta tag on your pages and maybe asking other webmasters to do the same thing. You can, of course, put it on your pages in addition to the Javascript we've given you (and we recommend you do until Google eventually decides to give an opt out mechanism - hopefully by recognizing this tag).

There is a JavaScript available for those of you who want to prevent the AutoLink now and a metatag that you can add that Google may honor in the future.

Not sure how much notice Google will take, but we've added the meta tag to SEL, in support of the efforts.
