Today, Google released Picasa 2.0, an updated version of their digital photo software. The free package allows users to organize, edit, and share digital photographs.

According to Google's blog, some of the new features of Picasa 2.0 include, "more editing features and organizing options, CD burning, picture captioning, and integration with online photo services… Picasa 2 works great with other Google services; you can post pictures to your own blog with the Blogger button, order print supplies through Froogle, and send pictures using Gmail."

One of the major updates has to with Picasa's editing features. The updated version offers editing options that are usually found on the larger imaging software suites. Users have 12 different effects they can add to their images, as well as the ability to caption pictures. For a full description of Picasa's new features, please take the product tour.
