China's Search Engine Market Expects Strong Growth

China is expecting strong growth in its search engine industry. Yahoo News: "The market is expected to growth at an annual speed of 60 per cent-70 per cent to hit 2.6 billion yuan by 2006."

"China's search engine market reached 940 million yuan (US113.6 million) in value terms in 2004, according to a recent report.

Apart from the basic search functions such as title search, news search and web-page search, the search for MP3, games and pictures are rising swiftly.

Trade search, E-shop search and region search also became hot spots on the search engine market in 2004."
