Rocketinfo has released a preview version of the RocketNews Search Application Programming Interface (API).
The Rocketinfo Search API provides independent software vendors (ISV's) and business partners with easy to integrate search tools that provide access to millions of current news and business articles updated in realtime, allow them to rapidly develop new, reliable and scalable search applications, and create new market opportunities for their products and services.
The java-based RocketNews Search API is designed for companies creating applications that require embedded search functionality and real-time access to current news and business information. The technology provides access to the 11,000-source RocketNews database. The database includes Newspapers, Web-only News Sites, Newswires, Traditional Media/Broadcast Web Sites, Corporate Web Sites, and Government & Regulatory Institutions. The API supports the ability to create keyword and phrase searches. In addition, it also supports the use of parametric controls to limit results based criteria such as content type, location, and date range.
"Our Search API allows companies to create powerful products that take advantage of our comprehensive content repository," said Rocketinfo CTO Rick VanWell. "The next generation of business applications and services requires embedded search and dynamic access to real-time news & business information and the RocketNews Search API is the first technology to meet this demand."
The RocketNews Search API is available for limited, non-commercial use.
