Search Engine Submission Tips

Creating a Website is just the first step in having an online presence. Your site needs to be properly submitted to the major search engines as well.

In order to have effective results, here are three tips to help you achieve online success:

1. Be selective with the keywords/phrase you chose. For example, if you're a Boston real estate agent with a Website, do not use "real estate" as a keyphrase. Thousands of other Websites are doing exactly the same. That leads to stiff competition, and an unlikely chance that your site will show in the first few pages of any search engine. Instead, think about using a key phrase such as "Boston homes" or "Boston apartments".

2. Conduct a mini-survey. Ask your friends, family, and customers what words they would use to conduct a search to find a business in your industry. Having several suggestions can only help you have a better idea of what the average search engine user is thinking.

3. Make sure to include most, if not all, of your keywords/phrases in your Website content, specifically your homepage. Search engines scan all the text found on your WebPages, and will use this as an element in ranking where your site shows up in the results page of a search.
