RSS Feeds

What is RSS?
RSS is a XML document that displays regularly updated information from a particular website. The abbreviation is variously used to refer to the following standards:
  • Really Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0)
  • Rich Site Summary (RSS 0.91, RSS 1.0)
  • RDF Site Summary (RSS 0.9 and 1.0)
  • Real-time Simple Syndication (RSS 2.0)
How is it used?
RSS is now used for many purposes, but mainly used for periodic updates or publications. A program known as a feed reader or aggregator can check a list of feeds for a user and display any updated articles that it finds. We have provided a list of RSS Readers that you may use.
