Paid Click Share Up 44% For Bing
By: Matthew Elshaw 2009-08-17 Microsoft Bings paid click share has risen 44 percent since their launch in June, according to a new report released this week by Efficient Frontier. ![]() The firm previously reported a 13% lift in paid search clicks in late June, so these new figures further cement that the launch of Bing has had a positive impact for Microsoft. The graph below indicates the rise in clicks since launch:
Efficient frontier commented that Bing did particularly well in the travel and finance categories where they showed growth of 11 and 22 percent respectively. Im guessing theyve pulled this figure from an average of their clients campaigns, so the growth figures could be skewed slightly based on the profile of their customers. Theres also potential for these figures to be inflated from all the hype surrounding the Yahoo!/Microsoft deal, with more people using or testing out Bing. Nevertheless, I think this is a great thing for the industry as some real competition for Google AdWords will hopefully lower click prices and see some strong innovation from both platforms.
