AskJeeves Is Back!
By: Matthew Elshaw 2008-11-07 It's been a while since the new owners of Ask Jeeves decided to sack the iconic butler from their search engine. From the comments on our original post, many of you were upset with this decision and were sad to see him go. For users who search for Jeeves, or type in the 'askjeeves.com' URL, we're giving them an 'easter egg' that shows Jeeves on their homepage. The image disappears once the user exits their browser. It's a nice surprise for those users who still look for him, and weve gotten positive feedback from our users who have experienced it. Despite the butler being out of service for over 2 and half years, there are still a lot of people looking for him. According to the Google Keyword Tool, there is approximately 1,000,000 monthly searchers conducted for the keyword ask jeeves, which may be part of the reason why Ask decided to bring him back.
