Google Gives A Heads-Up: PageRank Update!
By: Navneet Kaushal 2008-07-25 Matt Cutts, via his blog has taken the first ever initiative by Google to inform Webmasters of an upcoming update. This time, Matt has informed the Webmasters that Google would be updating the toolbar PageRank within a few days. This would lessen the confusion and the chaos that usually follows when an update is carried out by Google. Also, with the revelation of these details, Matt has also announced, much to the joy of many Webmasters that, Google would be revoking some of the older penalties that had been levied on websites by Google. According to Matt, I wanted to let you know that new toolbar PageRank values should become visible over the next few days. Im expecting that also in the next few days that well be expiring some older penalties on websites. Finally, Google has done what Yahoo! has been doing for a long time with its Weather Update. Giving the Webmasters, a forewarning of a possible update. This would surely make a lot of Webmasters breathe a sigh of relief, knowing that the possible ups and down that their websites might witness, are the results of an update and not a glitch.
