Google Beats FarmDate

The Dutch dating site for farmers, FarmDate, which took Google to court suing over AdWords links to adult sites appearing next to their organic search results, walked out of an Amsterdam courtroom disappointed.

The owners of the site felt the links appearing next to their results was bad for their brand image and sought to force Google to install filters to prevent such links popping up.

Pieter Bosch, the owner, took his cause to the Dutch trade/farmers union, who filed suit on his behalf.

Reuters reports that an Amsterdam judge ruled words like "farm" and "date" were too general to be the exclusive keywords of Farmdate.nl.
