Zeitgeist Doesn't Look On Bright Side Of Life 
By: Doug Caverly 2006-08-24 The Zeitgeist for the week ending August 21 is not as entertaining as some previous lists have been. In fact, some entries on this Zeitgeist bring topics to mind that are distinctly unpleasant. So, for the sake of not making this article a downer, all of those will be crammed into one paragraph, while other, less unhappy subjects will be brought into focus. Unsurprisingly, JonBenet Ramsey's name was first on the list. John Mark Karr, who claims to have killed her, ranked sixth. Actor Bruno Kirby, who died very recently, placed fifth on the Zeitgeist. The term "hurricane," while less specific, still has negative connotations for some people - it was number seven. And now on to happier things. Four women who are known for eliciting smiles from the male population made the Zeitgeist. Heidi Klum came in ninth, and Natalie Pinkham followed a couple of spots later at eleven. Jessica Biel was in twelfth place, and Tamara Hoover finished off the list at number fifteen. "miss teen usa" also made the list, ranking thirteenth. For the sake of fairness, I should also mention actor Wentworth Miller, who is similarly popular among women. He placed a step behind Miss Teen USA, at fourteenth. A movie title that has generated a lot of laughter was third on the Zeitgeist. Yes, Snakes on a Plane was high among the most gaining search entries. I haven't seen the film, but the jokes Letterman and Conan alone have derived from it have made me a fan. In light of AOL's recent, um, "issues," it seems important to reprint a Google disclaimer: "We should note that in compiling the Zeitgeist, no individual searcher's information is available or accessible to us."
