Three search engines received 93.4 percent of searches performed by searchers in the US, and Google once again led the way.

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Competitive intelligence firm Hitwise reported that for the four weeks ending May 27th, Google again dominated the pack when it comes to searches by US Internet users.

“Google continues to lead the three major search engine providers in market share of executed searches, garnering more than half of the total volume of searches in May for the U.S.” Bill Tancer, general manager of Global Research at Hitwise, said in a statement.

“As the volume of searches stabilizes across the top three search engines, the battle to supplement search with additional services and win the loyalty of Internet users becomes critical.”

Google took in 59.3 percent of all searchers for the four-week period. Yahoo came in second, with 22 percent of those queries, while MSN Search lagged in third with 12.1 percent.
