Tell Google All About It
By: David Utter 2006-05-10 Google is listening, even though some may think otherwise. At Press Day, one company executive emphasized that point in the hopes of getting it out there to more of Google's users. Elliot Schrage Vice President, Global Communications & Public Affairs, spoke at Google's Press Day. Our managing editor Mike McDonald related some of the salient quotes from his talk. "One particular theme is the localization of our business around the world. We really want and think we can help you all do a better job. "We want to work closely with you and help you cover us more accurately and more completely. "We need your feedback. One of the themes you'll hear a lot about today is how Google needs feedback. For example, we know the wireless (at Press Day) doesn't work. We're fixing it." (They didn't, which was fine because Mike had his Verizon wireless card and was the envy of all.) "More than half of our queries come from outside the US. More than a quarter of our employees come from outside of the US," said Schrage, emphasizing the importance of international business to Google. --- Tag: Google Add to | DiggThis | Yahoo!
