Two Chefs Become New Googlers
By: David Utter 2006-04-26 Scott Giambastiani and Steve Petusevsky won the Google cookoff and will join the Googleplex as executive chefs for each of their corporate cafés. The Mercury News reported Google finally found a pair of replacements for departed celebrity chef Charlie Ayers. Petusevsky, who has been a food writer for The South Florida Sun-Sentinel, had written about his experience with the Google interview process previously. Giambastiani will likely be missed from his Restaurant Viognier in tony San Mateo. The article noted the highly regarded, organic-oriented chef would depart his nine-year old restaurant in one and a half weeks to join. Petusevsky has been the national director of creative food development for Whole Foods Market as well, and wrote "The Whole Foods Market Cookbook." Also, Petusevsky has an interesting past that combined food and politics. He reportedly once served as the overseer for controversial foodie political group Chefs Collaborative, a player in the "organic foods" movement. --- Tag: Google Add to | DiggThis | Yahoo!
