Google has announced a couple of new features which aim to answer users queries without ever having to click away from the Google results page.

The first change is an extension of their rich snippets technology, which is commonly used to show structured data like restaurant reviews. Google have now expanded this to the events category by showing users if a page has specific events they may be interested in.

The second change has been called answer highlighting and is an improvement of how Google handles question based queries. Answer highlighting helps you get to information more quickly by seeking out and bolding the likely answer to your question.

Google says the changes will be rolling out to Google.com over the next couple of days.
