Google Analytics Adds New Annotation Feature
By: Matthew Elshaw 2009-12-29 Google Analytics have launched a new annotations feature which lets you bookmark major campaigns/events within your statistics for future reference. This will help to explain a spike or... ...drop in traffic to other members within your organization, without having to dig through the past. Heres an example of how this will look, This is a great feature which will end up saving many people a lot of time. Instead of going through old emails to understand why traffic doubled, or shopping cart conversion increased, users can bookmark this event when it happens for future reference. This will sure make end of month reporting a lot quicker! Another great benefit is that different members within your company can instantly see the results of other teams actions. For example: • The PPC team can mark when new campaigns go live • The SEO team can show when first page rankings were achieved • The PR team can indicate when a new press release is launched Google has started rolling out this feature and has indicated it should be live for all users mid January!
