New Google Keyword Interface To Protect Against Website Hacking!
By: Courtney Mills 2009-11-16 Googles Webmaster Tools have always been an essential resource for website owners and operators, but the introduction of a new keyword user interface is likely to make this... ...resource even more popular. The upgrade applies to the keyword report available in the webmaster tools, which now includes a daily update of the most common keywords that the Google spiders found while crawling your website. Specifically, it includes: • Daily keyword data updates • Details on how often specific keywords were found • A display of up to 10 URLs that contain a keyword • A new significance column which compares each keywords frequency with the frequency of the most popular keywords. Googles Kurt Dresner, Tanya Gupta, and Sagar Kamdar explain the significance of this new interface: "This will be really useful when you re-implement your site on a new technology framework, or need to identify which URLs may have been hacked. For example, if you start noticing your site appearing in search results for terms totally unrelated to your website (for example, Viagra or casino), you can use this feature to find those keywords and identify the pages that contain them. This will enable you to eliminate any hacked content quickly." This is a great new tool to see how Google understands your web site and a great resource to determine if your site has been hacked and where you need to fix it. If you would like to check out the new userface, simply login to your Google account here.
