Incoming Links Poor-Quality? Don't Worry
By: Courtney Mills 2009-10-20 Link building is one of the most effective ways of building your search engine ranking. But what happens when incoming links to your site are low-quality? Most site owners are aiming to build a good reputation for their site and poor quality incoming links can be perceived as hampering these efforts. But the good news is that there is no need to worry. In a recent blog post, Googlers Kaspar Szymanski and Susan Moskwa explained why poor-quality incoming links have little effect on your ranking.
The post also shares some tips on how to request for these links to be removed from the linking site. Remember, this isnt something Google can do for you. Google doesnt control the content or links on your site, so it is up to you to take action, if you wish. Why is there no need to fret about these links? Google explains that over time they remove low quality sources from their index, so these links should not hurt you over time. If you really want to bring these links to Google attentions, then you can report them in the Google spam report tool or paid link report. Good luck!
