Google Removed PageRank
By: Matthew Elshaw 2009-10-19 Google has dropped their PageRank values from the Crawl stats section in Google Webmaster Tools. According to Googler Susan Moskwa, Google have... ...removed the feature because they dont want webmasters focusing on their PageRank values:
In case you missed it, Webmaster Tools used to provide you with a Low/Medium/High ranking of your pages and also show the page which received the highest PageRank. Heres an example from search engine roundtable:
While Google have removed the values from Webmaster Tools, its not dead completely. You can still monitor your PageRank through the Google toolbar or any number of third party applications. Personally, Im not sure if this will have any impact on webmasters who are still closely monitoring their PageRank values. There are still many other ways to check your PageRank, so if they want to reduce reliance on this metric they will have to remove it from here too. What are your thoughts? Do you still closely monitor the PageRank of your pages?
