Google Maps - Place Pages
By: Matthew Elshaw 2009-09-29 Google replaced their larger information windows in Google maps for Place Pages, which offers a more detailed look at almost anything on Google maps. Place Pages are available for a wide range of locations including cities, neighborhoods, transit stops and businesses. You can visit a Place Page by clicking on more info in search results or the mini bubble in Google maps. To give you an idea of the changes, heres what the expanded listing for Lombardis pizza looked like before and after the changes. Before Place Pages:

As you can see, Place Pages offer a much more detailed view of the location with additional information such as:
Google claims that each of these pages will have a unique URL but this will not be indexed in organic results.
