...its Microsofts new decision engine which proclaims to be more advanced than your regular run-of-the-mill search engine.

But Googles CEO Eric Schmidt hasnt bought into all the hype. In a recent interview with the Fox Business Network, Schmidt expressed his thoughts on Bing:

Its not the first entry for Microsoft. They do this about once a year. Theyve got a bunch of new ideas, and there are some things that are missing. We think that search is really about comprehensiveness, freshness, the scale and size of what we do, and its difficult for them to copy that.

Ouch take that Microsoft! Schmidt goes on further to explain that although Bing may be a strong competitor in the future, Google will always be the number one search engine. If you want to check out the whole interview, just click here.

Of course, Yahoo! has weighed into the Bing debate also.

Bing beat Yahoo! in search market share for one day last week in the US (perhaps a sign of things to come?). This put Yahoo! CEO Carol Bartz on the defensive in a recent interview with Fox Business Network. Here are Carols thoughts on the situation:

Im actually glad Bing was that strong. They didnt beat us by much, it was one day, I think its gosh maybe it was in Omaha someplace, I think it was some small area. Im glad Google has competition.
One day is one day. It does not a trend make. But we dont want anybody getting a toehold -in the market-

Do you think Google & Yahoo! are sounding threatened by Bing? I think Google has little to worry about, but Yahoo! is whole other story. Perhaps they should be looking for a Microhoo! partnership again
