Google AdSense: Bigger Is Better?

By: Matthew Elshaw

If you're an AdSense publisher looking for advice to improve your earnings, Google has a tip for you: Bigger is better. Google recommend using larger...

...ad blocks on your site because they have been proven to deliver the best results.

Here is a simple video from Google explaining this:

These larger ad units typically perform better because advertisers tend to favor these formats and they're more obvious to users visiting your site. Google have identified the following three ad sizes as having the best performance:

  • 300x250 medium rectangle
  • 728x90 leaderboard
  • 160x600 skyscraper

If you're using AdSense on your site, I would recommend trying to include at least one of the above formats on your page. Careful placements next to or around your content is the best way to get users clicking!
