SEO Community Poker Tournament
By: Nathan Weinberg 2006-04-28 SEO Black Hat has announced a Texas Hold'em poker tournament for members of the SEO community and bloggers. The entrance fee is $110... ...and the game will be held a month from today. Prizes are based on the number of entrants; if 100 people join up, the top payout will be $2,500. The reason I'm interested is because a challenge has been issued to Matt Cutts, Jeremy Zawodny and Robert Scoble to enter the tournament themselves. If they do, their entry fee will be comped (meaning no risk), and if any of them knock out SEO Black Hat's Quadszilla, $10,000 will be donated to a charity of their choice. So, the ball's in their court. Matt, Robert and Jeremy: Unless you have a good excuse, you have a chance to earn a significant amount of money for a charity by playing an online card game. I know if it were me, I'd find a way to play (ironically, I can't because of when it is being held:-) ), since all they are doing is betting their blog celebrity against a charitable donation.
